And at least tonights game is on TBS baby! Smolts vs. Mulder. This series is about as good as it gets in August.
The Card's have really beaten up on the Central (32-13). However, they have struggled (9-10)against the East including losing two out of three to the Braves in April.
Hudson,Thompson, and Smoltz last time through against Mulder, Suppan, and Morris. This time Smoltz vs. Mulder, Hudson vs. Marquis and the finale with Sosa vs. Carpenter. I would venture a guess that Smoltz and Hudson will fair well enough to keep the games tight. Sosa walks more of a tightrope, allowing lots of baserunners. That scares me against this lineup in that stadium. The Cards are playing close to .500 ball over the last couple of weeks. Here's hoping they don't get healthy at the Braves expense.
Seemingly the Braves have developed a whole new set of goals for this season. I am not giving them the division title yet, and granted its probably better to have a best record in the NL conversation on Monday after the dust settles but...Go Braves! it should be fun.
See, I knew somebody would step up in my stead...
